On July 9, 2025, NeighborSpace, Greater Good Studio and the Park District hosted a stakeholder engagement strategy meeting at Alderperson Michael Rodriguez's 22nd Ward Office. The meeting focused on developing a strategy to reintroduce the project to the community in order to collect as much feedback and ideas for the project.

• Maximize involvement and communication so no one feels left out

• Historic Efforts

  • This site has been the focus of several neighborhood-based groups and they need to be invited to honor their work-to-date

• Agreement and Maintenance

  • Most of the group believes that a shared ownership and maintenance between the Park District and NeighborSpace is the most likely and most practical outcome

• Site Constraints

  • There are site constraints that limit what can be done. While the current remediation is complete, it is effective to a limited depth of 3 feet. Any new proposals that require excavation deeper than three feet would require additional remediation, which would delay progress. As a result, structures such as a field house are not feasible for this project.
