8/13/26 Permanent Park Feedback Session
Location:
In-person, recording available | Passcode: L@U1JSo1
Description:
On August 14, we met with residents at the Little Village Community Church to share an updated design based off our last session. We had over 45 participants ranging from local residents to local organizations. The proposed takes into account soil remediation efforts, access to the site, users of various ages and abilities, along with other improvements that could happen outside the site.
The design focuses on a center plaza space that can get used for events/socializing, lawn spaces for relaxation/spontaneous activities, a small court for physical activities, and a sculptural entrance. A main path helps extend 26th street into the site while various vegetation is laid out to create smaller zones for visitors.

The community responded positively with how the previous feedback was taken and addressed. Important questions continued to come up in regards to the plaza’s use, access to facilities like water fountains and bathrooms, seating options, and park hours.
As we continued in the meeting, participants shared a lot of valuable feedback and excitement for what’s to come.
“I really appreciate all the different incorporations of design from the beginning that we've started seeing all this change.”
