7/09/26 - Initial Activation Final Presentation

On July 9th, we met with the community to present the final design for the first activation. We presented a modular space connected by frames and colorful ropes. The center of the plaza hosts a tree that contains a seating element for holding soil as a response to the soil remediation the site underwent.

The community liked how the location anchors on the northern edge of the site allowing for people walking to go in and explore. The initial activation is a simple way to start bringing people in to the site as it continues to get developed.
Questions came up about increasing awareness of the project so more community members join. The current strategies involve a community survey, and event held in May, collaborations with students in Zapata, and emails to community partners. With the help of those involved, we can reach more people.
